ETC… In Tazania, UMI means “life” and is a word often associated with coffee in the Luyombe region where this bean is grown. This microlot is sourced from AMCOS, a coffee cooperative created in 2014 to increase support for small producers Tanzania. Because most coffee growers in Tanzania have small, simple farms, many producers are members of AMCOS, Agricultural Marketing Cooperative Societies, and share centralized coffee processing stations. The coffees at these receiving points are blended together and sorted before being separated by quality – with microlot selections representing the highest-scoring lots.
